Hi guys, im back,

Well nothing much is new apart from the fact that we took a bad beating from ACSI..... I shall not talk too much abt this since its not worth talking about.

On a happier note, ive finally gotten down to compiling the list of T20 nicks for all the TJC cricketers. But i really need help from everyone!!!! Start giving me possible options for everyone!!
Ive gotten a few done, but the list is a LOONNNNGGG way from completion.

Our next game is against RJC, on wednesday, and we really hope to put up the fight of our lives, and give them a run for their money. I mean, if we put up a decent score, and then let vinoth loose and give him a free rein to kill people, what could possibly go wrong??? hahaha.

Well thats it then! Keep the nicknames coming!!

Another month and another game

Well we're back.

There's nothing new from this side, other than the cool jerseys that have lime green stripes!!!!
Ok so here are some updates.

1) TJC HAS ITS CRICKET NET.

Well, yes its true. It may not look like much if you have actually seen it, but its really fun to play in. =) The wicket is a bit slow, and the ball does kick up a lot, but heck, its a net. =)

2) TJC Cricket has a brilliant bowling line up! =)

Yea, let me try to say this the same way Andrew Miller will on cricinfo.

TJC Cricket is led by a fine fast bowling quartet. Nikunj and Balaji open it with the new ball, and their distinct actions make them lethal. Nikunj, with his side arm action swings it away from the batsmen beating them with sheer pace, while balaji, with his new and improved bowling action, gets up to a decent pace while swinging it in. Vinoth the first change, just blows batsmen away. Any bat that gets on ball is due to sheer luck. =) Harish is the workhorse of the 4, and completely plugs one end.

TJC also has access to 2 decent spinners, one off spinner Ashwin, who might not turn much but has good line and length, and Anantha who can get the ball to turn on glass. Not to forget, our bowling line up also includes an accurate lefty in the form of Devang.

Yay. back to normal Raghav.

4) TJC ALSO HAS A GOOD BATTING LINE UP

Here's the probable top 6 batsmen:

Raghav, Balaji, Anantha, Nikunj, Harish, Vinoth.

Nuff said.

5) TJC JUST OWNED VJC.

Haha. sorry Victorian, couldnt help it. It was a good game for our boys, who played their hearts out against a lacklustre opponent who never really showed up today. playing on a really small pitch (BTSS, nuff said) VJ struggled to make 122 (mainly due to a lot of extra, the bowlers had a crappy run up). TJC then chased it down in 12 over, with Anantha going crazy and hitting 8 freaking 6ers. wth. I shall stop now.

Well thats all for now, our tournament starts next friday so ill update again then.

Heya!

Well here's news from our friday training! Basically, the whole training was spent laughing like crazy because we officially have a NEW TEJAS RAO. Who's about 1/2 the size and twice the mouth. Yes. I AM TALKING ABOUT NACHIAPPAN, the new smallest guy in cricket. (photos will be uploaded ASAP)

Well basically, he seems to have found a surefire way of keeping Anantha quiet, mainly by making fun of him non stop. Which is weird, because Anantha is so big, he can EAT him. =)

Training was just as per normal, with bowling, batting, fielding, and Kshitij's crazy physical regime. The only scary thing was that our new WTHZOMGBBQ fast bowler Vinoth seemed intent on decapitating all the batsmen he bowled too. No seriously. Someone ought to stop him before he kills.

The PDP bonding dinner at KFC was damn fun too, with free flow of drinks and banter. We have officially christened ourselves as the order of The Rectangular Tables. Kshitij is our king! Here are some examples of our Knight names:

nachi - Sir Laugh-a-lot
balaji - Sir Hump-a-lot
anantha - Sir Cock-a-lot

and so on and so forth. (well we were bored. so sue us.)

The full list of new nicknames for our J1s will be up after monday training.(just like ole times. =])

TJC CRICKET BLOG IS OFFICIALLY BACK. (random celebrations)

Yes sorry people. Ive been really busy. And now TJC cricket has 3 trainings a week. With a new coach. KSHITIJ (random celebrations again). He's got a crazy fitness plan that leaves us all feeling drunk and high every training (am i supposed to celebrate again?)

Ok... so anyway. Here's the lowdown of whats happened. TJC cricket has officially more than 20 members (ZOMGWTHNABE). Yes its true. We've got some pretty good J1s, and we really hope to mount some form of crazy gay shit challenge for the title this year!!!

In terms of games, we've played 2 proper ones with NJC so far, the first one we OWNED them. And in the second. Well. Ask me personally. Ill give you the whole picture.

Ok peeps, i promise to keep the posts coming in regularly this year. (Yes, im that bored.)

The TOURNY is finally OVER!

HAHA yes people. the title is true.

Well on the whole it was a decent tournament for us, but there are several positives and negatives that we need to take into consideration for next year. (btw, the next years exco will be selected tomorrow!!! =D)

Our semi final was easily one of the best games that we have played all year round. Playing the tournament favourites, RJC, we were sent into bat. Although Nikunj lost his wicket quickly, decent partnerships allowed us to post a decent score of 109 (the first team to score more than a hundred against RJC!!!)

Our bowling was pretty good too, Bala took 3 quick wickets, to cause a bit of fluster amongst the RJC batsmen, but well, a good innings by Prem saved them the blushes.

Our third-fourth match was quite a different. We played very badly, (god knows why) and we were bowled out for 60, which the SAJC batsmen knocked off with ease.

But well, this long drawn out tournament is finally over!!!

Ok. the cricket blog is finally back. Sorry all readers, ive been really busy and stressed (until today =) ). Some people who read this blog will understand, others wont. (so sue me)

So, basically this is a summary of what happened after the VJC game.

1) We got our asses kicked by RJC.
2) We got beaten in a rain sodden, nonsense match against ACS(I).
3) We got beaten by SAJC, who decided to make a big ho-ha over a stupid rule, despite the fact that they were easily, the better team that day.
4) WE TRASHED NJC.
5) The cricket boys who played for combined schools came is second.

I would like to only further elaborate on point 4)

NJC game was one that was going to be a grudge match for the whole TJC team. So well, we chose to bowl first against them in a 30 over game. BALA, the player playing with the most fire that day, decided to turn it on, and took 7 astonishing wickets, including the one of their captain. (he bounced one up in the helmet to get him flustered, and blew him away the next ball =) ) After they were out for 36, it was just cleaning up, and Sanstav finished the game nicely with three 4s.

After that, we had so much time, that we even played 2 friendlies versus a team selected by Pramod. Here, ANANTHA decided that Bala had had too much fun, and went berserk. Four 6s, a few 4s, etc, you get the point. Basically we won the first one, and lost the second one.

So stayed tuned for the Semis, and whatever comes after that!
(btw, for those who care, we're playing RJC in the semis)

Second Game: TJC vs VJC

Raghav's back, with the next game that TJC played, against our closest rivals VJC, in what ive have officially named, the Marine Parade Derby. The toss was won by TJC captain Bala, and we sent VJC in to bat.

After some brilliant bowling from everyone, VJC were all out for 143. Some good bowling from the captain and Anantha packed them up. Then it was up to TJC to chase down 144 for the win.

TJC got an early scare when the top 3 collapsed for a combined score of 1. Yes. We had a bad day.
But an amazing knock by Anantha (32 of like 16 balls!!!), followed by good middle order batting from Ishaan, Harish, Devang and Abhishek finished the game off for us. Harish played the Hero, holding one end firmly, playing a beautiful knock.

So thats it, stay tuned for the next game, TJC vs RJC (the best school in Singapore. Ouch)

First Game: TJC vs TPJC

Ok guys... im back (Raghav)

And this time, i have news about our first game of the tournament. TPJC.
TPJC werent really considered competition, but well, we took them pretty seriously anyway.
After a lot of annoying rain, the game was shortened to 25 overs per side.

TJC scored 199 with the loss of 5 wickets and the end of 20 overs. (we were asked to declare after this by the umpire, because time was running out, and TPJC bowlers were literally spraying the ball everywhere, wides, no-balls you name it)

We declared at this point, and went in to bowl, defending a score of 200 to win in 20 overs.

TPJC were all out in 10.1 overs, with a score of 27.

OUCH.

So well, yea, thats it for our first game, ill put up some spastic photos some other time.

Ok... this is Raghav back again with another post after another month

Once again, there is nothing really funny or cool to report, other than the fact that this team seems to be going from strength to strength.

There was a friendly with VJC sometime in the march hols, where we beat VJ pretty emphatically, (there was one very bad point, VJ's highest scorer was 71, EXTRAS).

So well, a lot of intensive trainings later, we've got a decent squad, who im now going to name (if i forget anyone im really sorry! there are so many people this year!)

A month

Ok... this is Raghav posting again, after one freaking month (somewhere there la)

So firstly, there was the tournament, where TJC crashed out after the stupid SCA screwed up the goddamn Net Run Rate calculations, and well, both us and VJ got knocked out.

Screw that.

Next, we found out that U-17s cannot play in the 11-a-side, which is coming up due a stupid new rule.

Screw that too.

So well, on the brighter side, out trainings show an improving team, though it will be very depleted during the tournament, since we miss a decent all rounder (Balaji), and a good bowler (Siva). Nothing much else funny seems to happen this year, *sigh*. TEJAS SHIKHARE WE NEED YOU.

Lol.

On a more serious note,

Dennis Meyer, Coach of VJC and TPJC passed away suddenly on Saturday due to a sudden heart attack. The TJC cricket team wishes to express our heartfelt sorrow for the grieving family. Rest in peace Dennis Meyer, you will be remembered by us.

Trainings...

Heya all!

This is Raghav back to blog...

Well this is a long overdue post for the last 3 trainings that we've had...

not much really happened other than a constant imporvment with respect to the whole team and all three departments of cricket (for all you slow thinking dopes, its batting, bowling and fielding). =)

But now we do have a permenant coach!! Chaminda (is that how u spell it?) has graciously agreed (he better) to coach us!! yay!

But apart from that this seems to be the most boring year for trainings, since nothing interesting or ridiculously funny seems to happen... zzzzz

On the fashion side, TJC cricket has released its new line of Cricket Jerseys! haha... ok... crap aside, they look quite good, with TJC cricket written on the front like sponsors on actual international teams... we have two for the price of one, since the first had printing in black, and we wanted it in TJ green... so yay!!

First Saturday training of 2007!! Haha, it went quite well, other then the fact that TA2s may not be able to play!

Oh everyone played quite well in the nets. Good job guys! Haha, bowling might need to improve abit, but batting is alright! Haha, gd shotmaking and shot selection. Well done. A good bet for the title this year eh? Haha, lets do this guys! (even thought i aint playing)

Haha, with a gentle reminder that even if your teammate is injured on the balls and you bring ice for him, please do not say that you thought he injured his thighs, I'm signing off!

If you're seeing this, it is strongly advised that you join cricket in Temasek Junior College. It is one of premier Colleges in Singapore, and the cricket team is one of the strongest. Our team (as of January 3, 2007) consists of

First things first, HAPPY NEW YEAR everyone!!

Well, maybe we're just not lucky with our coaches. First one got sacked. Second one is not with SCA anymore. We might get our third coach in just over 1 year. How lucky can we get?

Anyway, on the brighter side of things, we've got new members! I cannot remember all their names, so yea, once I get to know them, you all will have a special mention in the honourable TJC Cricket Blog. It is a very great honour only bestowed to those who, well, are associated with cricket in TJC. Speaking of which, do we have a cricket orientation kinda thingy? To get to know all the new members?

So well, the holidays are over. The year has started. More importantly, the season has started. We have much to do people. Lets get going and well, I really should not be saying this, but we have one particular JC to thrash this year. Hope you all know what JC that is. We will get into the semi-finals. We will get at least a third placing. We will, we will, we will!!!!

So that's about it everyone. Lets get our training started and lets get going....

Well hiya people!

This is Raghav signing back in after a loooooonnngg time...haha...

Well firstly, PROMOS ARE OVER.
(Unceremonious whooping and cheering)

Back to TJC cricket.

Well last friday, we had TJ Open house.

Cricket as usual set up its own crazy booth, and this year, we went NUTS

Firstly, there's the table. Decorated with retarded pics of pixelized stadiums and players.

Not to mention, 4 BATS ON THE DAMN TABLE. (plus other stuff, helmet, keeper gloves, pads, etc.)

Then the cricketers came up with a brilliant (yet retarded) idea.

We decided to have a driving ball hung up behind us. So out came Sanstavs yellow (thankfully normal smelling) sock, in went a cricket ball, and up it went over the metal chain that holds up the wierd tarp.

And it was quite cool. Until a crazy girl came in and banged it so hard that the ball went up....

AND AROUND THE WOHLE THING.

Yes... so we were standing there like idiots with a ball stuck on top of the tarp.

Long story short, we got it down, and things were quite cool from then on. We did lose 4 tennis balls playing boundary cricket in the B Ball court, but guess no one cares...

Hmmm, oh yea, thank you to all year 2s. We're gonna miss you all and all the best for your 'A' levels. Ok that being said, I'm introducing the year end awards now. It will be a yearly tradition eh? Haha, here it goes.

His trademark 'crocodile's mouth' catch is one of the funniest catches to see, and yet, it works so who cares?

The wonderfully timed shot flew all the way to the boundary, and past it. Nothing the Victorians could do about it.

Chronicles: Rewind

Heya people!

Raghav back... and im here to post 2 very interesting incidents that happened at the start of this year, when we were still under Buddhika.

Number 1.

This one is dedicated to our past and current Vice Captains.

It was a fine Saturday morning, and we had just started nets training. Sanstav was all padded up, and was looking in good touch.

Then the unthinkable.

A typical Rakesh cracker of a damn ball swung right in, and clipped sanstav in the... um... um... for the lack of a better word, nuts. Despite wearing a ball guard, the ball seemed to have found a way through, and had injured sans.

Enter Shikhare.

Shikhare being the general i'm-a-nice-guy-but-a-brainless-idiot ran to find some form of assitance for sans.

Guess what the resident genius does.

HE BRINGS ICE.

TO PUT ON THE... NUTS.

EVEN THE POOR GUY WHO HAD BEEN INJURED (sans) COULDNT HELP BUT LAUGH.

And Shikhare ensured himself of an IM THE IDIOT OF THE YEAR award.

Number 2.

This incident is the most all-rounded (literally) player of the team.

Ishaan.

It was a nice Friday evening at Kallang, and we were having fielding practise, Long Catches.

So everyone runs in and catches, some drop.

Enter hero number 2, Ishaan.

When Ishaan comes in, Buddhika decides to be funny.

he lobs it high in the air, but is quite short in length. So Ishaan runs in his usual way towards the ball at full speed.

Then, he misses the ball.

And barrels straight on.

INTO BUDDHIKA.

Ever wondered wat will happen if an eighteen wheeler hits a duck? Well, we found out. Enough said.

Chronicles of TJC Cricket Episode 1

Ok so here's what usually happens at our cricket training. Haha, this was sometime in the earlier parsts of the year when there was competitions.

So first of all, we run one BIG round around the pitch. After everyone finishes, we realise that we are down by one person. We look all around the pitch just to see Ishaan near the sidescreen which is miles away from the end point, which is also the start point which incidentally...ok i should stop now.

Anyway, we just shake our heads and go to do our usual stretching. Then our coach comes around to give us short catches. Here are the things that are sure to happen even if the world is flat and the sky falls down:

1) Ishaan will miss the ball at least 5 times and shout as if he had been hit by a Shoaib Malik cracker.

2) Siva will get ultra hyper and horny

3) Sansthav will go 'yep yep yep' and crash into the person standing next to him

4) Balaji will catch all the balls given to him

5) Bala will do a slow-mo dive, shouting 'NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO' as he goes down to catch the ball, just to realise its going above him and he dived too early.

The above mentioned are just for the year ones.

As for the year twos, this is what will happen for long catches.:

1) Nishanth will do his special 'crocodile' style catch, which got me my 2nd wicket against VJC. Haha, thx dude!

2) Bharat runs in with his pants up to his belly button and cataches the ball...no wait he just dropped it. Arh well. (haha, joking only ah bro, no tension!)

3) Anurak runs allll the way from the boundary with a straight poker face and catches the ball. Nothing much lah.

4) Gwen Seng! Haha, he'll run in, then realise its going back, so run back, then stand below it and catch it, drop it, catch it again and drop it again. Ah seng lah that one.

5) Rao. Tejas Rao. He'll run in like a duck, put his hands out, and hopes the ball falls in. But hey, the odds were quite high. Like 1 in 100000000000000000000000000000000 only. No wait, in the words of mr goh, ONY.

6) Balasundram Sundrbalan. Rakesh. He'll jog if its too far, but catch it its just nice. Typical Shikare. No wait, typical Balasundram Sundrabala.

7) Here is the grand finale. Shikare. Tejas Shikare. Here's what happens. The typical Shikare of the genus DUMBO run towards a ball which is high in the air. He knows there's no one around him, and shouts MINE in a really high pitch. After which, he says that saliva was stuck in his throat. Sigh. Thus, if u ever come across this particular species, it is strongly advised that u steer clear of it, or it might just shout MINE into ur ear.

Hahaha, kk sry shikare, its all a joke. Please everyone, he is a good fella. Haha.

Well Raghav is back...

This is blogging abt this Sats training... Was quite fun... haha...

First, we start the day like normal, with short fielding, then Sagar says, "lets play a little rubber ball cricket game... rules, NO BOUNDARIES... run!"

So all of us break up into pairs... Me and Balaji form the second pair...

So the first pair, Balakutty and Ishaan walk in... bala played quite well... but the ishaan ended up like the loser he was, ended up getting bowled by SIVA and GIRISH... everyone was like... ehhhh

The the ownage partnership... RAGHAV and BALAJI. Both of us went in, and DIDN'T get out even once... final score 17 runs and that remained as the highest score... (btw, it was only 4 overs per pair)

Nothing funny other than that happened... until the two coaches said they would like to bat.

Ouch.

Final score... 30++ runs in 4 overs...

Ouch.

After that, the only funny thing that happened was during long catches... Sanstav being the NOOB that he is, threw the ball all the way across the field, OVER the keeper (i.e. ME) and over the damn fence.

TWICE.

Well... thats all for training...

BTW LISTEN UP ALL J2 ex-cricketers! CAN WE PLAY A TESTIMONIAL MATCH? 7 on 7? sometime is sept???
